Unbelievable but unfortunately true. The promising Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput is no more!
Bollywood and his fans are shocked to the core. This is the fourth death of a famous Bollywood personality since April. After Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor in April 2020, and Wajid Khan from the Sajid-Wajid duo this month; Sushant Singh Rajput left for the heavenly abode today.
In most of his movies, he personified an ideal lover, every girl could ask for. He was amongst the best actors of the young generation, who have made a mark and his potential was so highly laudable. His infectious smile used to light up the scene and his presence added life to the screen. As I decant my thoughts for the actor; words are rushing away, asking me if the news, this day, his death are for real.
In a short span of time, the actor rose to eminence in the Indian entertainment industry. He has left various remarkable roles and powerful performances.
Personal Life
Born on January 21, 1986, in Patna, Bihar; Sushant Singh Rajput was the youngest of 5 siblings and doted fondly by his 4 sisters. He was a notable Indian television and film actor. He was a student of St. Karen’s High School in Patna and Kulachi Hansraj Model School in New Delhi. The actor secured the seventh rank in the DCE Entrance Exam in 2003 and got enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) in Delhi College of Engineering.
The bright actor was also a shining student and had won National Olympiad in Physics. In all, he cleared as many as 11 engineering entrance exams, including the Indian School of Mines.
Sushant joined Shiamak Davar’s dance classes and later acting classes as well when the idea to have a career in acting dawned on him. He was among the background dancers at the 51st Filmfare Awards (2005) and perform in the cultural program at the opening ceremony of the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Australia with his troupe.
Finally, he bade bye to engineering to pursue full-time acting and dancing. He moved to Mumbai and joined Nadira Babbar’s Ekjute theatre group. During his association with this group for 2.5 years, he featured in a famous TV advertisement for Nestle Munch.

Television and Filmography
After his introduction to the small screen with the chocolate ad, he began his career with television serials. The romantic drama Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil (2008), aired on Star Plus where he became a familiar face as Preet Singh Juneja. He next shone in Zee TV’s superhit soap opera Pavitra Rishta (2009–11) that made him a household name and earned huge fandom.
He was a contestant of Team “Mast Kalandar Boys” in Zara Nachke Dikha in 2010. The actor also proved his talent in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 4 (2010-2011), where he was a runner-up.
From small screen, he moved to big screen with the buddy drama Kai Po Che! (2013). In the same year, he shared the screen with Parineeti Chopra and Vaani Kapoor in the romantic flick Shuddh Desi Romance. The following year brought his loveable lover boy image with the blockbuster movie PK.
The audience got to see his different avatar in the action thriller Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (2015). The sports biopic M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016) earned him high acclamation. With Raabta (2017), Welcome to New York (2018), and Sonchiriya (2019) he made more silver screen performances.
He further starred in more successful movies Kedarnath (2018) and Chhichhore (2019). He last appeared in the Netflix film ‘Drive’ (2019).
His charm brought him to feature in a music video song “Paas Aao” with Kriti Sanon in 2017.
Takadum, Dil Bechara, and Chanda Mama Door ke were his upcoming movies.
Other Works
Rajput did not limit his excellence to the entertainment industry but took a remarkable step for education with Sushant4Education program for students in 2017. His aim was to give new excitement to kids while emphasizing on shaping up young minds and investing efforts to help young students.
A believer of the power of education towards the prosperity of the nation, Sushant hoped to stimulate a strong sense of learning in young minds. His various initiatives included providing counselors to schools so that students can make the correct career choice as per their strength and aptitude. He personally took time to select trained counselors for the purpose.
The sessions kick-started in St Elias High School and SS Sahney High School (Mumbai).

Sushant won a host of awards that prove his pluck, be it television performances or roles in Bollywood. He truly was an enchanter, the promising star, and a dynamo of acting. Death
On a fateful day – 14th June 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput breathed his last. He was found hanging at his home in Mumbai. The 34-year-old actor was living alone during the lockdown. It is said that Sushant was not feeling well for a few days. The late actor is said to be cremated tonight or tomorrow as his mortal remains are taken to Bhabha Hospital for postmortem.
The death of his mother in 2002 has devastated him. Lately, he spoke of ‘fleeting’ life in his last Instagram post, missing his late mother.
Times are tough. Things are easier said than done but we have to be patient and keep calm. We have to collect every ounce of courage to keep standing in tumultuous times. Also, it is high time, we realize the importance of mental health. If anything is bothering us, let’s pour our heart to someone we trust.
